Alarm at the Gate: Healthy Men Healthy Communities.
The Silver Spring (MD) Alumni (SSAC) is co-sponsoring a Health Fair on March 21, 2026, at Holy Cross Hospital. The focus is on black men’s health with a discussion of the leading causes of black men’s health issues, such as mental health, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, kidney disease, and more. Private health screenings will be offered.

Region 1 & 2: SSAC and our co-sponsors (Holy Cross Hospital and African American Health Program) are CHALLENGING each chapter in Region 1 & 2 to attend this event. The chapter with the most members’ representation will win a door prize.

Black Men’s health conditions are on the rise! The time to act is now. Your participation and community participation are paramount. Please join us at the “Healthy Men Healthy Communities” Health fair and bring someone with you. Note: the health fair is not just for men; women and young adults are welcome. Your health impacts the entire family.
