SEED (Sowing Empowerment and Economic Development)

SeedSEED has served Prince George’s County for more than 25 years, advancing self-sufficiency and economic empowerment for families in need. Annually serving over 18,000 children and adults, SEED provides emergency food and diaper distribution, housing counseling, financial education, workforce support, and community development initiatives.

In an environment where many families face economic uncertainty, SEED remains a critical lifeline—offering stability, dignity, and opportunity. Their sustained impact and measurable outcomes make them a cornerstone organization in the community.

nami(National Alliance on Mental Illness – Prince George’s County)
NAMI Prince George’s County serves as a compassionate and trusted voice for individuals and families impacted by mental illness. Through free peer-led support groups, educational programming, advocacy, and outreach, NAMI reduces stigma while expanding access to essential mental health resources.

Their mission aligns directly with our Fraternity’s commitment to mental health awareness—particularly the “Are You OK?” campaign launched in 2024. By supporting NAMI, we reinforce our Province’s dedication to promoting mental wellness, advocacy, and community education.

Journey to ExSCellence

Journey to ExSCellence raises awareness and educates communities about Sickle Cell Disease and Sickle Cell Trait, while supporting individuals and families navigating the daily challenges of this condition.

Sickle Cell Warriors often manage chronic pain, respiratory complications, anemia, and related health issues that can lead to isolation and stigma. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, Journey to ExSCellence works to reduce external stressors and provide meaningful support to affected families. Their advocacy and education efforts embody resilience, compassion, and empowerment.
