EP KARES for FACETS!
Who and what is FACETS?
FACETS, a frontline nonprofit in Fairfax County since 1990, has become a vital lifeline for thousands of vulnerable residents. Through emergency shelters, eviction prevention, and community-based education programs, FACETS provided more than 54,000 nights of shelter, served over 58,000 meals, and prevented 1,219 evictions in one year alone. But these efforts rely heavily on support from partners like the Eastern Province. Your donation is not just charitable—it’s transformational. It fuels targeted, high-impact services that protect families from the brink, equip youth and adults with life-changing skills, and break generational cycles of poverty. With 89% of donations going directly to programs, your support ensures that every dollar drives measurable change. The Eastern Province’s contribution empowers FACETS to meet urgent needs today and build a stronger, more equitable Fairfax County for tomorrow.
Despite its reputation for affluence, Fairfax County, Virginia, faces a hidden crisis of poverty and homelessness. The 2025 Point-in-Time Count revealed that 1,322 individuals experienced homelessness in a single night—a 3% increase from the previous year. Even more troubling is the racial disparity: nearly half of the homeless population identifies as Black, despite making up only 11.1% of the county’s overall residents. Over 60,000 people live below the poverty line, and many working families cannot afford stable housing, with full-time minimum wage earners unable to rent a modest two-bedroom apartment. These statistics expose an urgent and growing emergency that demands both compassion and action.
